Kilkenny to Dublin Airport transfers
This is the run we do most. From Kilkenny City it is the M9 the whole way, then the M50 and the Port Tunnel into the airport — roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours when the roads are clear.
The part worth planning around is the M50 between about 07:00 and 09:30, which can add half an hour. For a morning departure we normally suggest leaving Kilkenny about three and a half hours before your flight. That sounds early; it is the difference between a calm coffee airside and a jog to the gate.
Tell us your airline and we will bring you to the right door — Terminal 2 for Aer Lingus and most long-haul, Terminal 1 for Ryanair and the majority of others. Coming home, give us your flight number: we track the arrival, so a delayed or early landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you a missed car.
Kilkenny to Cork Airport transfers
South on the N76 and then the M8, typically 2 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes. Cork suits people connecting through to the UK and Europe, students heading back to Cork, and anyone in the south of the county for whom Dublin is the long way round.
Cork is a smaller airport and moves quickly, so the buffer you need is shorter than for Dublin — but the drive is longer, which catches people out.
Kilkenny to Shannon Airport transfers
The M8 and then the M7, about 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. Shannon matters for one particular reason: it has US pre-clearance. You clear American immigration in Ireland before you board, which means you need to be there considerably earlier than for a normal European flight. Allow the extra time when you book — we will factor it into the pick-up if you tell us it is a US departure.
Minibus hire in Kilkenny for groups
For groups we run vans and minibuses seating up to sixteen. The reason people book one instead of splitting across taxis is usually luggage: a group of eight with eight suitcases and golf bags does not fit into two saloons, whatever the seat count says.
Common jobs: wedding parties moving between a hotel and a church, golf groups heading to Mount Juliet, teams and supporters on match days at Nowlan Park, and groups in town for the Kilkenny Arts Festival or Cat Laughs. If everyone is going to the same place at the same time, one minibus is almost always cheaper per head than several cars.
Tell us the number of passengers and the number of bags when you enquire. Those are two different questions and the second one decides the vehicle.
Private taxi and long-distance journeys
Not everything is an airport run. We do Kilkenny to Dublin city, Cork, Galway and Belfast, hospital and appointment runs where somebody needs collecting afterwards, and ferry transfers to Rosslare Europort and Dublin Port.
A pre-booked private car is a different thing from flagging a taxi: the price is agreed before you travel, the driver knows the route, and the car is there at the time you asked rather than the time one becomes available.
Corporate and executive travel
For businesses we can set up an account rather than settling every journey separately — useful if you are collecting clients from Dublin Airport, moving staff to meetings, or running the same route regularly. Receipts are provided for expenses.
Hotel and event transfers
We collect from and deliver to the Kilkenny hotels regularly: Lyrath Estate, Mount Juliet, the Newpark, the Pembroke and Hotel Kilkenny among them. For weddings and events we can run multiple trips across an evening, including the late return when everyone is finished.
How our pricing works
We quote your journey before you book, so you know the figure in advance rather than watching a meter. What changes a quote is distance, the size of vehicle you need, the time of day, and whether it is a one-way or a return.
Send us the details through the quote form or ring 0818 11 11 16 and we will come back with a price.
Where we collect from
Anywhere in Kilkenny City and county — Callan, Thomastown, Castlecomer, Bennettsbridge, Graiguenamanagh, Urlingford, Freshford, Piltown, Mooncoin and the rest — plus Carlow, Waterford, Clonmel and Portlaoise. The locations page has the detail, including drive times from each part of the county.
